Namatjira goes live on WYN TV Tasmania

Congratulations to the students at Wynyard High School in Tasmania, who broadcast a 30 minute live webcast last week about the Namatjira project!

The students did movement workshops and interviewed Trevor and Derik, and took watercolour workshops with Lenie and Kevin Namatjira. These interviews and experiences were then transformed into segments for the magazine style webcast. The webcast was watched by, among many others, students at Ntaria School in Hermannsburg, Central Australia.

Rock stars on tour!

A brief email from Tamworth from artist support worker, Elspeth Blunt:

To say the ladies are loving Tamworth is an understatement. At the Country Music Hall of Fame Lenie told the guide the story of how her grandmother gave Slim Dusty’s wife her headscarf to borrow when she was out in Ntaria touring with her husband. At the Big Golden Guitar (pictured below) Gloria found a lot of obscure country CDs she couldn’t find in Alice and then on the CD player in our rockstar black van played me a song he wrote about Albert.
